A 2-year-old Hobbs girl was about to lose her eyesight until something amazing happened: A complete stranger stepped in and paid for her $35,000 operation.
Pamela was able to fly to Michigan and get the surgery in May.
"They're just very, very happy," said family friend Jessica Sanchez.
Pamela is back in New Mexico, recovering at her home in Hobbs. She's still wearing glasses, but is slowly regaining her vision.
That's all thanks to Danny Watson, the man who paid for Pamela's operation.
"I just, I can't imagine going through life without your eyes you know," said Watson. "We just felt like it was something God needed us to do."
Watson owns a construction business in Hobbs.
"We try to base this business on God," said Watson. "He has, I guess you'd say he has blessed us immensely. And we feel like he put us here not just to pipeline, but to help and that's what we try to do."
Last week Watson was able to meet Pamela for the first time.
"Words can't even express the way they feel," said Sanchez.
Watson says he wanted to wait until after her operation, so when they finally met, she would be able to see him.
