Two children in Roswell were hospitalized after police say a drunk driver slammed into the car they were in.

This isn't the first time the alleged drunk driver has been in trouble.

Police say Francisco Morales-Pesqueira drank 15 beers before he slammed into the back of two cars Monday.

"He wasn't even expecting to get hit from behind, he just got hit," Dodie Garrison said.

Garrison's brother was in one of those cars.

"My brother was stunned, he was startled," Garrison said. "He hit his head on the steering wheel. The kids were freaking out."

Garrison says after the driver slammed into them, he took off.

"And just waved and kept on going," said Garrison. "My brother was in disbelief, he couldn't believe that the guy just kept on going."

Garrison says witnesses got the license plate number, as her brother checked on his kids.

"My niece was having an asthma attack in the back seat," said Garrison. "They have bruises from the seat belts--thank God they had their seat belts on. But they all had bruises on their chest from the seat belts."

Both kids had to be hospitalized.

Deputies found the car at Morales-Pesquiera's home.

When they found him, police say he was highly intoxicated to the point he couldn't stand.

Morales-Pesquiera is facing a slew of charges, including his fourth DUI.

The family says they're just thankful it wasn't worse.

"We thank god, look how busy the traffic is, that he didn't push them into oncoming traffic," said Garrison. "There's a lot of semis, it's just a busy intersection.  It could have been so much worse, it could have been so much worse."
