The Environmental Health Department's Air Quality Program is issuing a health alert for those with respiratory conditions. High winds may cause elevated levels of particulate matter.
This alert will go into effect Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. and will remain in effect until Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 6:00 a.m.
People with asthma, chronic bronchitis and other respiratory and heart diseases, are encouraged to limit outdoor activity. Children and older adults may also be affected by particulate pollution.
