Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies say two suspects are in custody after a shooting in a South Valley restaurant parking lot Tuesday night.

The incident took place at a Sonic restaurant near the intersection of Isleta and Saunders. Deputies responded to a report of two people sitting a car in the restaurant's parking lot and harassing employees of the restaurant.

BCSO officials said a man and woman fled the scene in a vehicle, ramming a patrol vehicle in the process.

At least one deputy fired shots during the incident.

"Shots were exchanged. We're trying to determine exactly who was involved, how many shots were fired," Sgt. Aaron Williamson said.

The suspects' vehicle rolled over a few blocks away from the scene, forcing the pair to flee on foot. The man was captured a short time later and is being treated for a minor injury to his leg.

The woman escaped temporarily but was arrested Wednesday morning.

No deputies were hurt in the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call (505)-798-7000.
