Meet Adrian Tenorio. This soon to be 5th grader at Los Ranchos Elementary is like any other boy his age. He plays football and is a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Today though, he did something that many kids his age might not do. He saw someone who needed help and took action.

"Had he not been there, I was already bleeding, and of course, that could mean major complications," said Modesto Montaño, a Rio Rancho resident.

He was repairing his swamp cooler up on the roof of his house. He then was climbing down the ladder, and all of a sudden, his ladder collapsed.

"I don't even know because the next thing I knew I was on my way to the hospital in an ambulance," Montaño said.

It was a dangerous fall for sure, with his blood splattered on his driveway.

Luckily for Montaño, 10-year old Adrian was in his grandmother's car next door waiting to go to recreation. He saw the ladder slip along with Montaño hitting his head on the truck in the driveway.

He knew immediately what to do.

"He laid down so I called 911 and then i went to get my nana (grandmother)," Adrian said.

It's what he's seen on TV commercials that guided him during the emergency

It's his quick thinking that will have Modesto and his wife Barbara forever grateful.

"We're very thankful for Adrian. I'll give him a hug and thank him and I don't know what else. We'll certainly take the opportunity to show our gratitude for him," the Montaños said.

Doctors say that Montaño appears to have suffered a concussion due to the fall.

The ending could've been much worse had Adrian not been there to witness what happened, and call for help.
