BLOOMFIELD, N.M. (AP) - Authorities say a teenage girl is dead after the ATV she was driving crashed in Bloomfield.

San Juan County Sheriff's officials say 13-year-old Lybertee Clark suffered severe head trauma and injuries to her torso in the crash that occurred about 6:30 p.m. Monday.

She was transported to the San Juan Regional Medical Center, where she later died.

Authorities say Clark's 8-year-old brother was a passenger in the ATV. He's being treated at the same hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Sheriff's officials say Clark was four-wheeling in the Wilderness Park area which has many ATV trails.

Investigators say she came to a curve in the road, but was going too fast to make the turn.

The ATV went down a steep embankment and rolled. Clark and her brother both were ejected.
