Police say multiple shots were fired at officers and a person who called 911 for help in northeast Albuquerque on Tuesday night.

According to Sgt. Ferris Simmons, police responded to reports of people firing a gun out of a white Ford Crown Victoria while driving on Wyoming Boulevard just before 10 p.m. He said two officers were interviewing a witness at 1331 Wyoming NE when multiple shots were fired in their direction.

The officers guarded the witness and took cover. No one was injured.

Police made contact with the occupant of a vehicle matching the description of the suspect car, but it was determined that the person was not involved.

Detectives are currently investigating the incident and ask if anyone with information to call NE Impact Detectives at (505)-823-4455.
