Loved ones of a 16-year-old Victor Villalpando, killed by police are remembering him Sunday evening.

Two weeks ago Espanola police shot and killed Villalpando.

About 150 people will make the 4-mile walk for Victor Villalpando. The walk will end at the site where he was shot and killed on June 8th.

State police say the teenager pointed a gun at officers.

Friends and family of the victim hope Sunday's vigil will raise awareness on gun violence and mental health issues.

Villalpando’s mother says the closures of mental facilities are to blame. She hopes her son's death was not in vain.
