An audit by New Mexico Veterans Affairs shows that the Albuquerque VA hospital has been falsifying wait times for the last decade and wait times were manipulated.
The report states investigators found many appointments were cancelled and remade to comply with VA wait time standards.
Meetings to address these improper practices date back as far as October 2011.
Training on how to correctly schedule was also held in the spring of 2012 and 2013.
Investigators say while these training sessions did help, wait times continued to be manipulated.
Hospital personnel told investigators changing the wait times was not intentional, but just the way they've always done it.
They attribute the wrongdoing not to one person, but rather a common practice hospital-wide.
Investigators could not find out how long this has been going on, but one long term employee says as far back as he can remember.
The problems at the Albuquerque VA come after similar problems at the Phoenix hospital were reported.
