An Iraq War veteran is searching for his service dog after he went missing on June 21 in Rio Rancho.

Shaun Kearney said he and his service dog "Chesty" were taking a walk near Trailhead Park in Rio Rancho when the dog took off toward the river. Once Kearney reached the river, he couldn't find him.

Kearney and Chesty have been together for a year and a half and just completed training with Paws and Stripes about four months ago.

Chesty is wearing a Paws and Stripes collar.

If found, you are asked to call (505)-401-6771
