A Roswell family brought home their dog "Colby" home from the pound Monday after she disappeared nine months ago.

Earlier this week, a different dog showed up on the family's porch and did not leave for several days. The family started thinking of names for the dog, but then it disappeared Monday morning. Upon the Slaten children’s request, the family checked the pound.

It turned out someone had dropped off Colby there several days before. Colby disappeared about nine months ago.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes,” Said Bryan Slaten.

Colby has blue spray paint painted on her side. A worker at the pound said Colby may have been in line to be used as a "bait dog", one that gets "fighting dogs" ready for battle.
