Feds conduct operation in southwest Albuquerque

Albuquerque police say an operation involving Homeland Security Investigations and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents is taking place in southwest Albuquerque on Thursday morning.

A heavy police presence was reported before 7 a.m. in the Westgate Heights near Cartagena and Sandy Flats. KOB Eyewitness News 4's crew at the scene saw police take at least one person into custody.

According to APD Sgt. Ferris Simmons, more information about the operation will be released at 11 a.m.
