Boehner to sue Obama in executive authority dispute

(NBC News) -- The tug-of-war between Congress and the White House may be headed to the courts.

Republican House Speaker John Boehner says he wants to sue President Obama for trying to change the law.

Boehner says instead of faithfully executing the law, as the Constitution requires, President Obama is using executive orders to change the law.

"Not only does the President regularly ignore the law he brags about it.  It's arrogance and incompetence right down the line," Boehner said.

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi likened this lawsuit to a childish tantrum.

"There really needs to be an adult in that room of the Republican caucus, I hope the Speaker is that adult.  They're doing nothing here and so they have to give some aura of activity," Pelosi said.
