An Albuquerque burglary victim is pleading with the criminals who broke into her house and ripped her off. They took something that can never be replaced and she’s begging them to bring it back – no questions asked.

The burglars took TV sets and a bunch of jewelry from the Westgate Heights home of Monica Marquez – but all she wants back is one pendant that the burglars will have absolutely no use for. To Monica, it’s priceless.

The pendant contains the ashes of Monica’s mother, Cathy Valdez, who died 14 years ago. Monica posted a picture of it on Facebook, along with a plea to the burglars to just return this one item.

“My mom was gone May 20 of 2000,” Monica said. “She passed away from pancreatic cancer. Whoever’s out there and sees this, please just give them back to us. That’s all we’re asking for. Leave them on the front doorstep or mail them to the address that’s listed.”

That address is:   Monica Marquez

                                    PO Box 1465

                                    Paguate NM 87040

Monica knows it’s a longshot, relying on honor among thieves and a streak of mercy in a person who would steal from others. Will she get it back? We’ll keep you posted.
