An Albuquerque Police Department officer is at home recovering from being injured on the job and an Albuquerque man is behind bars after police say the suspect allegedly rammed a stolen SUV into four police cars earlier this week.

Police say 23-year-old Brandon Baker led police on a chase in a stolen vehicle before ramming four police cars. He eventually parked the stolen SUV police say he was driving and ran, before officers caught and arrested him.

Saturday in court a judge set Baker’s bond at $150,000 cash or surety, noting the seriousness of the charges. Two officers now have severely damaged vehicles and one is dealing with injuries she had to go to the hospital for. The airbag’s impact caused swelling, bruising and chemical burns.

Baker was already on probation because of other vehicle theft charges.
