Several organizations are will be offering safe rides on the Fourth of July in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

The Tavern Taxi program will offer free rides to and from your favorite restaurant or bar on the 4th of July in Albuquerque.

Residents can designate their sober driver in advance, and take advantage of the free rides by calling 505-999-1400 for pick-up. The server or bartender calls for the taxi when the patron is ready to go home. Reservations are encouraged.

The Taxi Tavern program is sponsored by Bernalillo County Department of Substance Abuse and the New Mexico Hospitality Retailers Association.

The Santa Fe County DWI Program is offering $1 cab rides in Santa Fe on the Fourth of July.

The Cab Ride Home program provides adults with safe transportation from a bar or party back home within the Santa Fe city limits.

The service is offered from 5:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Call (505)-438-0000 for a cab.

The Santa Fe County DWI Program subsidizes up to $25 for cab rides with funds from the liquor excise tax, so riders pay a nominal rate for a safe ride home.
