Albuquerque police discovered they'd captured a carjacking suspect after arresting him at the scene of a home burglary.

On Saturday, officers responded to reports of the burglary on the 8700 block of James Avenue NE. Police took two of the three offenders into custody.

During their investigation, officers identified one of the suspects as Sean McMurray, 42.

McMurray was suspected of carjacking a victim with a firearm earlier that day. He was also convicted of a Santa Fe home invasion in 2002, in which he reportedly attempted to castrate a man.

McMurray was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on several charges, including armed robbery, breaking and entering and conspiracy to commit a felony.
