After more than 16 hours of searching, Santa Fe Police located Joseph Carlos Rivera, just before 4:30 p.m. Friday on the Santa Fe Plaza.
Santa Fe Police received a tip from a resident who recognized Rivera walking on the Plaza. SFPD bicycle officers then located the child on East San Francisco Street, made contact with Rivera and positively identified him.
Rivera was last seen leaving his residence at 4499 San Ignacio Street on Thursday around 8:30 p.m. in the company of three to four friends.
Santa Fe police released a surveillance video from a gas station showing the 10-year-old boy who was reported missing early Friday.
An Amber Alert was never issued because there was no evidence Rivera was abducted or left against his will.
Rivera is unharmed and will quickly be reunited with his family. CYFD is involved in the case and will follow up with the child and his family.
