An Albuquerque man already facing charges of squirting kids with a semen-loaded squirt gun is now facing new sex crime charges involving a girl under thirteen years old.

It’s all about images Albuquerque Police Department detectives say they found on Kevin Jaramillo’s computer after the squirt gun bust last spring – photos of a young girl riding a bicycle, wearing less and less clothing in every frame. They tracked her down and she identified Jaramillo as the man who photographed her, molested her – and worse.

Jaramillo, 35, faced new charges Friday afternoon of criminal sexual penetration, criminal sexual contact, and kidnapping. Judge John Duran set a bond of a quarter of a million dollars – cash only – and had a warning for Jaramillo if he manages to bond out.

“You’re not to return to the scene of the alleged incident,” the judge said. “I’m going to specify that you maintain a radius, a 5 mile radius away from that area.”

The girl told police she was riding her bicycle in an arroyo that runs through a park, when a man approached her, saying he was a UNM student working on a project. He asked if he could take her picture, she said yes, and he did – then he got her to go under a bridge and that’s when things went bad. Police say she told them she hoped someone would come along and help her, but no one did. She told them she thought screaming wouldn’t do any good because the park was full of other kids yelling and playing.

The child saw an image of Jaramillo and identified him as the suspect.

Jaramillo is facing 8 counts of child abuse and other felony charges for the squirt gun assaults. Police say the arroyo incident took place about two years ago, before the squirt gun attacks.

Jaramillo is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center.
