It's been the biggest commitment of Alexis Dowling's life.

"We work out four to five, maybe six times a week," Dowling said. These days, for Alexis, it's all about health.

Two years ago, she was about 100 pounds heavier, not working out and not eating healthy.

But one day, Alexis decided she'd had enough.

Cami Jones is Alexis' trainer and has been there every step of the way – teaching her about fitness and eating right, but also about sticking to her goals.

"It is difficult, especially when you have a job or school or kids or a family, whatever it is. There's always something that can get in the way. It's just if you will let it," Alexis said.

Alexis said there were good days and bad days, especially those days when she just craved something sweet.

"I was like, Cami, I'm dying. I want something sweet and she said I will make it," Alexis added.

All it took was 30 minutes for Cami to whip up a cupcake in the kitchen, and she said it's a healthy one at that.

"Nut butters and cage free eggs. That's the base of them all," Cami said.

The cupcakes are also gluten free, just about 30 calories and it kept Alexis on track.

"It almost tasted like it should be bad," Cami said.

Family and friends became obsessed with these cupcakes. In April, Alexis and Cami started to sell them, using the name "Cuppy Cakes by Strong is Sexy."

"Our favorite is when people who've already tried them come and buy more," said Alexis.

Alexis credits these "Cuppy Cakes" for helping her stay on track and she's heard it's helped others too.

"People making their goals is the greatest thing ever," Alexis said.

You can find Alexis and Cami selling the cupcakes every Saturday at the Growers Market in downtown Albuquerque. For more information, visit their website at
