New Mexico State Police say two state police officers fired shots at a woman's vehicle as she fled from a criminal investigation in northeast Albuquerque on Tuesday.

The incident started around 6:43 a.m. at 6100 Harper Dr. NE.

According to state police, two officers fired shots at the woman's vehicle as she drove away from the scene. State police said they did not think the woman was hit by the shots fired.

The woman then crashed at 7500 Jefferson NE and fled the scene in a stolen white Kia with New Mexico license plate 771SNA. Officers are still searching for her.

Details about the criminal investigation are limited, but state police officers took approximately six people into custody on Tuesday morning.
