Storms bring buckets of rain to Albuquerque

Fast-moving rain storms dropped a lot of water on Albuquerque Tuesday.

Several roads and arroyos across the city were flooded. The rain came fast and heavy. Albuquerque's rain gauges and diversion channels were full of water tonight.

Drivers were stopping along I-40 to record video of the water rushing down the arroyo in the middle of the interstate.

The air was much more humid and the rain cooled everything off which provided some relief from the heat.

KOB talked to one woman who thought she could dodge the storm, but got caught in it.

“I tried to get away with a bike ride in the foothills, Elena Gallegos and I got in 5 miles and then it started to lighting to the north and south----and now I look like this,” said Jan Phillips.
