The president of the Albuquerque Police Union is in some hot water.

The Law Enforcement Academy Board sent Stephanie Lopez a cautionary letter Wednesday saying she violated standard operating procedure last year.

The board also claims Lopez performed union duties instead of her job responsibilities during that call.

The case was in reference to a March 2013 call in which she responded to the home of a fellow officer who was suspected of domestic violence. She allegedly wrote her personal views in a police report involving the officer who was eventually arrested.

Lopez has been suspended for 80 hours.
