Hobbs police officers responded to a fatal multivehicle traffic crash Friday on the Lovington Hwy near Hobbs, NM.
According to witnesses a white Dodge pickup, was traveling northbound swerving all over the road. The driver of the truck was identified as Keevisen James Gould, 27, of Red Valley, Ariz.
Keevisen then drove into the southbound lanes of traffic striking head on into a red Chrylser, driven by Priscilla Mungia of Hobbs, NM. The truck was then struck by a third vehicle after the initial head on collision.
According to Hobbs police, Mungia was transported to Lea Regional Hospital where she died as a result of her injuries. A six-year-old child passenger in Mungia’s vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The child’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
A passenger in the truck was indentified as Shane Bestselie of Bloomfield, NM. Betselie was transported to Lubbock for advanced medical care related to his life threatening injuries.
Alcohol does appear to be a factor and charges are pending at this time.
