Albuquerque police have arrested three teens in the murder of two homeless men sleeping in a field on the city's Westside.

Alex Rios, 18, Nathaniel Carrillo, 16, and Gilbert Tafoya, 15, have all been charged in the murders of two men sleeping in a vacant lot on 60th Street at Central.

In the criminal complaint, police said the teens admitted to killing the two men and injuring one other after coming home from a party Friday night.

The complaint says they admitted to using bricks, sticks and a metal fence pole on the victims.

Police said the men were beaten so badly, they have not yet been identified.

According to police, the teens also admitted that they had been randomly attacking homeless people throughout the city for the past year and that they had attacked at least 50 people just in the last couple of months.

APD is working with outreach programs and to reach other victims who may have never come forward.

Tafoya's father told KOB Eyewitness News 4 he is devastated and trying to make sense of what his son has admitted to doing.
