Social media helped Albuquerque police locate an 84-year-old man who was reported missing on Monday  morning.

According to APD, an employee at Galles Chevrolet spotted Hector Sanchez and recognized him from a Facebook posting about the Silver Alert. The employee, Rico Garcia, contacted APD and gave Sanchez water and comforted him.

"We are grateful for Galles Chevrolet and Mr. Garcia's kindness to Mr. Sanchez," Sgt. Ferris Simmons wrote.

Sanchez was checked by paramedics and driven home by an APD detective.

His wife is relieved to have her husband home.
