He was seen touching himself while peeping through the bedroom window of some Albuquerque kids.

Despite their best efforts, including a few slugs with a small pink bat, the family said the man got away.

"He was just standing here. He was fondling himself, he's cupping his hands, he's like right up against the window looking in," Chris Charles said.

The incident happened Saturday at an apartment complex near Central and San Pedro.

Charles said her kids had just finished their bath and were running around the house when she noticed the man.

She said the man was in the back of the apartment complex, in an area people are usually not found.

"What would happen if mom and dad were gone, and what would happen if we were hiding from him," Charles' 7-year-old daughter Charisma said.

But the parents were there, and caught up with the man after a few blocks.

Their dad slugged him a few times with a bat.

"I started telling all the little kids who were playing outside, get inside, there's a pervert on the loose," Charles said. "We went there, we were knocking on doors till about midnight telling people."

Somehow the man broke loose and got away. Albuquerque police took a report but said the man has still not been found.
