ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque authorities say responders performed two rescues involving three people who'd run into health problems while hiking in the Sandia Mountains.

Police Sgt. Ferris Simmons says police officers and Bernalillo County Fire Department personnel on Monday located and walked out a man who was suffering from severe altitude sickness. Another hiker had found the man and contacted authorities.

While that man was being escorted down, another call came in regarding a couple who suffered from dehydration and altitude ailments while hiking in the mountains.

They also were located and escorted down.
