New Mexico's Second District Court is warning Bernalillo County residents about a new phone scam.

A person calling residents claims a judge has issued a bench warrant for their arrest for failure to appear for jury duty. The caller then requests personal information and demands money.

Officials want people who receive these calls to just hang up.

For further information, contact the Second District Court jury division at (505)-841-7508.
