Couple arrested for allegedly stealing saddles in Albuquerque metro

Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested two people for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of saddles in the metro area, including Corrales.

Corrales Police contacted BCSO in reference to a stolen saddle located at a local pawnshop. Corrales Police and BCSO were able to link Justin Barney and Brooke Parsons to the stolen saddles being sold at various pawn shops.

Detective Arias with BCSO, secured a search warrant for the couples residence in Albuquerque and located additional stolen property, including tools, bikes, and other items.

Bernalillo County investigators say, Barney and Parsons confessed to committing the burglaries.

According to Corrales Police Department, 13 stolen saddles, including one from Albuquerque were recovered. 

In addition to charges of receiving stolen property, charges for burglary and felony larceny will be submitted to the 13th Judicial District attorney’s office for review.
