If you plan on using Paseo Del Norte this weekend, think again. The Paseo and Jefferson area will be shut down completely as crews work on a new overpass, but come Monday morning, you'll be able to use it.

However, until then the area surrounding will be shut down so crews can get it done.

Starting Friday night at 8 p.m. eastbound paseo from 2nd street to I-25 will be shut down. At 9 p.m. that same night, Jefferson will be closed in both directions from just south of Paseo to El Pueblo. On Saturday morning at 8 a.m. westbound Paseo from Jefferson to 2nd will be shut down.  All of it will be back open Monday morning at 5 p.m. as well as that brand new overpass.

“Allow a little extra time to get where you're going just for the first few days until we get accustomed to the new alignment,” said Phil Gallegos with the Paseo Project.

As for when the entire Paseo Del Norte/I-25 interchange project will be finished and you won't have to worry about any more closures?
