The dirt road near Ballenger ranch and Martinez is somewhat rough, with twists and turns. It's not unusual for a Deputy to find a driver who needs help.

A Torrance County Sheriff Deputy discovered a vehicle that had been driven into the trees on Ballenger Ranch and Martinez Road late Friday night.

Deputies then came across a partially buried body near the truck.

They say a man with dark hair and a white shirt was seen fleeing toward the forest area.

Deputies believe the man was trying to dump the body.

For hours, Torrance County deputies, Bernalillo County, and State police searched every home along the dark, dirt road, but found no sign of the man who ran.

OMI was called to the scene. However, they have not yet released the name of the person who deputies have confirmed was murdered.

If you have any information regarding the incident, you are urged to contact Torrance County Deputies.
