America's oldest female veteran honored

(WOAI)  At 108-years-old Lucy Coffee is the oldest living female veteran in the nation.

Friday she was headed to Washington, DC where she was honored for her service. 

Lucy served in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps during World War II and earned two Bronze Stars.

When Lucy and her caretaker arrived in Washington they were scheduled to head to the White House to meet Vice President Joe Biden and then after dinner, they headed to a concert in her honor.

She was also scheduled to meet President Obama during a private tour.
