UNM Lobo football player Jamal Price, 21, was arrested Monday night along with former Lobo Morgan Redmond.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called to an apartment on Gold Avenue in reference to a domestic violence incident.
The victim told police that she had recently broken up with Price and he had broken into her home.
She told police that Price had been sending her text messages about retrieving his property. When Price said he was coming over, the victim told Price she was not home.
The victim then heard banging on her front door. She turned off the lights and pretended no one was home. After a few seconds, she said she heard the window open and movement in the kitchen.
According to the criminal complaint, she ran toward the kitchen and swung a ruler at the individual inside her home. A physical altercation took place and the victim was punched in the face. The victim fought back and punched her attacker, who was late identified as Morgan Redmond. Police said Price also entered the home and went into her bedroom, where he began looking through her belongings.
The victim stated that after trying to console Price, he pushed her to the ground.
When the victim said she was calling police, Price waited outside for their arrival.
Redmond and Price were arrested and taken to the Prisoner Transport Center where they were booked and charged with conspiracy to commit a fourth degree felony and breaking and entering.
