Rainfall totals in July of 2014 have made Albuquerque's record books. The National Weather Service says this has been the fourth wettest July to date.
This month, the Albuquerque Sunport recorded 3.41 inches of rain. The last time the Duke City got anything close to this was back in 2006, when 3.55 inches fell at the Sunport.
Wednesday night also proved to be an active weather evening in Albuquerque. The National Weather Service detected more than 2,000 lightning strikes from 11 p.m. into early Thursday morning. As for rain, .12 of an inch was recorded at the Sunport.
The NWS predicts this week will likely be the wettest stretch since September 2013 for many locations throughout the northern two-thirds of New Mexico.
