A SWAT situation at a northeast home ended with a man in handcuffs on Thursday afternoon.

Albuquerque police said the incident started when a driver fled from a traffic stop. The man then broke into a home near San Mateo and Menaul and barricaded himself inside.

After SWAT officers set up a perimeter around the home, police said the man contacted them and said he wanted to surrender.

Police took him into custody without further incident. The man's identity has not yet been released.
