San Juan County Communities of Care holding backpack drive

FARMINGTON, N.M. -- The San Juan County Communities of Care is conducting a backpack drive for local youth who are involved with behavioral health services.

The following items are still needed: backpacks, notebooks, loose leaf paper, three-ring binders, scissors, highlighters, compasses, and protractors.

Donated items may be dropped off at the Juvenile Probation Office located at 851 Andrea Dr. Suite 2, or at the Farmington Police Department, 900 Municipal Dr. Contact Carol at (505)-629-6569 or Georgette at (505)-320-9757 with questions.

The COC is not an agency or program; it is a network comprised of multiple stakeholders including service providers, law enforcement, consumers of services, family members, businesses, and other concerned citizens.

The network is committed to improving outcomes for youth who have serious behavioral health challenges. Their goal is to identify ways the community can work together to address the needs of youth and their families.
