ALBUQUERQUE (AP) — The board of the state's largest school district has scheduled a meeting to discuss an undisclosed investigation into its superintendent.

But exactly what is the focus of the probe into Albuquerque Superintendent Winston Brooks remains a mystery.

The Albuquerque Public Schools board is slated to gather Monday for their special meeting.

Board president Analee Maestas says a serious personnel issue came up during the school chief's performance review. In a statement last week, Maestas says she hired an attorney to investigate the personnel issue and the attorney has produced a report.

Brooks confirms he has been interview by the attorney but declined to give details on the investigation.

Brooks was put on an improvement plan last year after he made a disparaging tweet about Education Secretary Hanna Skandera.
