It was a face almost everyone in one northwest Albuquerque neighborhood knew. That's because since Friday, Marcos Delgado's face has been everywhere.

Police told KOB Eyewitness News 4 Delgado had been on the run since shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend.

So when news broke that Delgado was the one who shot and killed himself just off 11th and Bellrose Avenue NW, neighbors were shocked.

Joshua Cordova didn't see anything happen, but said what he heard is something he won't forget. "Like tat…tat, but faster," he said.

Delgado allegedly shot at officers using a high-powered rifle before taking off through the neighborhood on foot.

One woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, said she remembers hearing a lot of commotion in a place where she normally feels safe.

"It's a quiet neighborhood and I've never been worried in this neighborhood," said the woman.

The madness might all be over, but residents want to know how and why it had to end in their neighborhood.
