Albuquerque police are searching for two people they say were involved in a home invasion that turned deadly.

Police say around 5:45am on Friday, APD received multiple calls about shots being fired near the 3400 block of Wellesley Northeast. When officers got there, they learned that two residents had been broken into by two, possibly three suspects.

One of the residents shot and killed one of the people breaking in. Police say that for their safety, that person’s name isn’t being released yet.

Neighbors say they saw a white, full sized truck that sits low, with white stickers in the back window and tinted windows, leaving the area after hearing gunshots. Witnesses say one of the suspects jumped into the truck as it was speeding away.

Police say the identification of the man shot and killed is unknown and an autopsy is being completed.

Police ask anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers or 242-COPS.
