The man who was shot and killed in an August 15 home invasion on Wellesley NE has been identified by Albuquerque police as 18-year-old Edgardo Marquez-Ordonez.

APD spokesperson Tanner Tixier also said APD identified and apprehended two suspects in the home invasion, one of whom was identified as 22-year-old Luis Vargas-Rivera.

Vargas-Rivera sustained a gunshot wound during the invasion and is being treated at a local hospital, according to police.

20-year-old Miguel Marquez, Jr. was also arrested Tuesday afternoon.

Vargas-Rivera and Marquez will be charged with murder, aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, assault with intent to commit a violent felony, conspiracy and tampering.

Tixier said the murder charges for the two stem from a state statute that says if a person is in the commission of a crime, and a person related to the crime dies, that regardless of intent, the others can be charged with murder as well.
