Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies arrested two women Monday night they have been looking for for several weeks in regards to a series of armed and strong-armed robberies targeting elderly women at local stores.
Police put out an APB August 22 for 18-year-old Breanna Aguilar and 23-year-old Marie Jones, who allegedly were part of a team, including Andre Nevarez, who police arrested last week, which threatened women with weapons and assaulted them for cash and credit cards outside of local Wal-Marts and a Smith's grocery store.
When Nevarez was arrested on August 4, he admitted to being the man involved in the robberies. He then identified both women as the other people involved. He told the arresting officer Jones was the woman responsible for actually getting out of the vehicle and attacking the elderly women, and that Aguilar was used as a lookout to find potential victims.
Surveillance video from a Foot Locker at the Coronado Mall positively identified all three suspects using stolen credit cards from a woman to purchase new clothing. A fraudulent check cashed by Nevarez in one of the victim's names also helped identify the suspects.
Aguilar has been charged with conspiracy to commit a 2nd-degree felony and conspiracy to commit a 3rd-degree felony.
Jones has been charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon.
