Heavy rain and flash flooding swamped parts of Santa Fe with inches of water Tuesday evening. The rain is always needed in New Mexico, though the hazards can sometimes outweigh the benefits.
A KOB viewer sent a photo showing when rushing water from a flash flood flooded a street entirely.
"I have to walk through that?" a student asked as she stepped out from school.
"As we started driving down it was what you guys call a monsoon; it's a lot more rain than we're used to," said a tourist visiting Santa Fe.
A man from Eagle Nest welcomed the rain and said he'd like to see more.
"It means a lot because it's a fishing town," the man said. "When the lake goes down, the boats can't get out and the boat ramp is there."
