Las Cruces man arrested after allegedly stabbing girlfriend in face

A Las Cruces man was arrested late Tuesday after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend multiple times.

29-year-old Benjamin Ziehl was allegedly angry with his girlfriend about cheating issues, and according to Dona Ana County Sheriff's deputies, stabbed the woman in the face multiple times.

The woman escaped and had a passer-by call authorities, who found Ziehl at a home on El Centro and arrested him.

The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Ziehl was booked and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment. He is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
