FARMINGTON, N.M. -- When you ask people about their job, you don't hear a lot of responses like this: "I loved it the first week I was here and three years later I still love it, it's a great place to work."
Delbert Atcitty is a welder at PESCO-- and he couldn't be happier about his job.
"Here its family because they are pretty happening people, you walk by, they give you a fist bump hand shake it's a really good place to work," he said.
The family owned and operated business just announced a major expansion, including 150 new jobs.
"It is a significant wage for this area and it is going to have a significant economic impact for this whole community, which we are excited about," said Kyle Rhodes, President of PESCO.
Process Equipment and Service Company, or PESCO, currently employees almost 350 people in more than 100,000 square feet of shop space. But Rhodes says that's not enough space or people.
"We have decided to go ahead and expand which adds about another 20,000 square feet of shop space," he explained.
The company manufactures equipment for the oil and gas industry, and Rhodes says they build better people too.
"We not only try to equip them in skills it takes to work here at PESCO but also life skills."
His employees agree.
"The environment of here, it's amazing, its family atmosphere one of the best places to work," said Alan Sandovol.
The expansion will be built on the existing PESCO property on the US 64 in Farmington. The new positions will pay up to about $40,000 a year.
