ALBUQUERQUE -- Albuquerque is one of the best cities for cycling in the nation, according to Bicycling Magazine.

The Duke City ranks No. 39 on the magazine's list of America's top 50 bike cities. To determine the rankings, the magazine analyzed U.S. Census data for factors such as overall percentage of bike commuters and how fast that number is growing in each city.

The article mentions Albuquerque's new LED light installation representing water running through the arroyo as part of the new bridge over I-25, which connects the Bear Canyon Arroyo trail with bike lanes on the other side.

There are currently 275 miles of paved and unpaved bike trails in Albuquerque's system.

New York City ranks as the No. 1 bike city in America, followed by Chicago, Minneapolis, Portland and Washington, D.C.
