SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - A forum for candidates for attorney general and secretary of state is planned by the League of Women Voters of New Mexico.

The group said the forum will be held Sept. 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Santa Fe Community College. A Santa Fe radio station, KSFR-FM, will provide a live broadcast of the campaign event.

Democrat Hector Balderas and Republican Susan Riedel are running for attorney general.

Republican Dianna Duran is running for re-election as secretary of state and is being challenged by Democrat Maggie Toulouse Oliver, the Bernalillo County clerk.

Candidates are to make opening and closing statements and answer written questions from the audience.

The forum will be moderated by Meredith Machen, president of the League of Women Voters of New Mexico.
