Hobbs renews school superintendent contract

HOBBS, N.M. (AP) - Hobbs School Superintendent Cliff Burch will be on the job for another year.

The school board has renewed his contract, and gave him an excellent rating on his evaluation.

Burch has been superintendent in the southeastern New Mexico school district for four years. Before that, he was interim superintendent for six months.

He currently makes $124,913. School board president Joe Puckett said last month that any salary increase would be determined after the 2009 Legislature, which wrapped up its session on Saturday.
