The three Whole Foods stores will donate 5 percent of their Thursday sales to the South Valley Economic Development Center.

The center says the money will help fund three programs that focus on helping entrepreneurs start and grow businesses.

Meanwhile, women looking to start a business might want to start in New Mexico. FitSmallBusiness.com named the state as the 10th best for women entrepreneurs.

They based their rankings on things like the percentage of businesses in each state that are owned by women and how much economic clout women have in each state. They say nearly 40 percent of all businesses in New Mexico are owned by women, supplying jobs for just under 10 percent of New Mexico workers.
