ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The Albuquerque Metro Championships continue this week, and the Albuquerque High boys have won all three of their games to start the year.

The Bulldogs will face nationally ranked La Cueva on Wednesday. Albuquerque has been to the state title game each of the past three years, and with their returning experience, they have the talent to get there again this season.

"Actually, I think we're a little further along this year than we were in the past couple seasons," AHS coach Lucien Starzynski said. "We got an earlier start this year and I think we're sharper. The same team is there. The culture, the motivation, it's all still there for sure."
